The
Legend of the Dream Catcher The Dream Catcher originated with the Ojibwa
(Chippewa) tribe and was adopted by many Indian tribes throughout the West. Hung
over the bed, its purpose was to catch all dreams. Bad dreams would get caught
in the webbing and be held there, where they would burn off at daybreak. Good
dreams would filter through the feathers, where some would remain to be dreamt
another night.
